Jason Ivler. Yes, that’s a name that seems to be creeping up on my writing recently and this time I’m here to talk about his Facebook account. Now I’ve been lucky enough to hear on the news that there was an FB account on the man and I just couldn’t resist not looking, so I did. What I found there was a little more surprising than what I expected.

To start, he wasn’t exactly that hard to look for. There’s an immediate result by simply searching his name would be found and there would be three results afterward. They succeed highest to lowest according from the number of fans and of course I would open the account with the fan base of 12,097(Yes that’s five digits people and its growing!).

Anyway, I was a bit surprised at what I saw. There was a flood of posts on his wall with mixed emotions of both worship and odium. It would seem that he has definitely become a minor public figure in the largest community site in the web. Here are a couple of quotes from that wall:

“Aaron A G Gedang THE TUPAC SHAKUR OF THE PHILIPPINES. MAD LOVE SON. YOU GOT MY BULLETS AT YOUR DISPOSAL”

“Eissehj Villa galing mo bumaril idol kita..”

“Kitty Marie Silaba ..cRush kitA grAbe kC anG tApANg mO po eh….bAsta iM hEre tO suppOrt yOu…^_^”

“Anne Rivera ` haiizst nacu ung mga HATERZS wag na nga ckau mag comment dituu .. pam pazsikip lan ckau ee .. vbat di neu ckea commentan ung zsarili neu … indee eung ivba !! nyaha .. FUCK THOZSSE HATERZS !! LOVE HiM OR HATE HiM HE STiiLL GONNA SHiNE !! LOL”

I mean, I could understand the mass quantities of fans, views, and comments (that’s usual to any celebrity for a social networking site) but what buzzes my brain is the content of the whole page. I find him as a typical guy with a lot of friends that actually love him. I can see a passion for music that I also share and a recording for his composition. With fun pictures that tell how fun he can be.

I didn’t really bother with comments and what other people have to say on his page. The stuff I posted here are just random copy and pasted stuff. But a quick scan quickly reveals a lot praising him for his gun skills. Are we really that much of a suck up to the US that we inherited even their love for guns?

My two pesos.
